South Thailand

AC: Down to the islands of the South of Thailand for some more relaxing before the final treks though India in March. We decided to skip the touristic islands of Ko Phi Phi and Samui and on some advice checked out the islands of Ko Lipe and Tarutao. It was a very calm week enjoying the sunshine, & fresh seafood cooked on the beach front under the bright stars! We hooked up with some cool folks to hang out with on the islands (thanks for the laughs guys!). Highlights were the amazing sunsets, and the crystal waters of Ko Lipe. We also checked out the bay around Phang Nga - very impressive rock islands scattered around the bay. NB. We also experienced a little 'road block' on the bus trip with some locals apparently using trucks (complete with spot fires) to protest their disagreement with local police! Lucky our bus driver knew a detour around the major block! Next stop - India!!
VG: Direction le sud pour le parc national de Tarutao. Sur les conseils d'amis voyageurs (Elsa, Sascha...) on voulait passer quelques jours tranquilles sur l'ile de Ko Lipe, soit disant uniquement habitee par des pecheurs. Une fois arrives a l'embarcadere, quand on a vu tous les touristes qui achetaient leurs billets on s'est pose des questions ! Fnalement on est d'abord alles a Ko Tarutao (la c'etait tranquille!) ou on mangeait tous les jours au meme resto (y'en a qu'un), on a visite des grottes ou j'ai derape et failli tomber dans un gros trou et puis un soir, apres etre alles voir le coucher de soleil, on est rentres a pied dans le noir total ! Ko Lipe s'est avere etre une tres jolie petite ile au succes malheureusement grandissant... mais ou on peut faire du snorkeling, manger des fruits de mer, boire de la biere et se baigner avec nos amis de voyage! Sur le retour on a visite la baie de Phang Nga (la baie d'Halong Thaie) avec l'ile de James Bond, d'ou les photos pathetiques ! Puis une journee a Phuket avant de prendre l'avion : les meilleurs fruits de mer depuis le debut du voyage!
